Compartment dominance over disease in structuring oil palm root-associated microbiomes: a coassembly metagenomics perspective

Compartment dominated across all annotation levels with condition-to-compartment significant-feature ratios ranging from 1:40 to 1:11,061. Disease did not reduce alpha diversity and produced only distributed functional shifts in CAZyme families and COG categories. Spatial niche filtering far exceeds disease status as the organising principle of microbiome ecology.
